When you bounce from site to site picking up a few tips in photography on one site and some more on the next one - it"s a sort of unorganized, helter skelter method of educating yourself. As in any other endeavor, if you consistently work to eliminate your shortcomings and work to build on your triumphs you"ll eventually reach success. You have to! There can"t be any other outcome!
What we don"t usually take into account is that camera mastery can occur very quickly. Done well you will see improvement in your photography withinÒ hours.
The strategy for doing this is to start a Photo Journal.
Here"s how to do it...
First: you will write down how you pre-visualize the end photograph will turn out...
Second: you will make note of all the varied lighting conditions, camera settings, lenses and whatever other factors are in play.
Third: you will shoot your photo.
Fourth: compare the end result to what you thought would happen.
If your photograph is On Target, make a note of it in your photo journal and you"ll forever after be able to replicate that photo - simply by referring to your journal.
If the result isn"t On Target, come up with a few ideas on why that may have been the case and...
Fifth: re-shoot with the new ideas until you get what you desired.
You"ll discover a ton about photography every time you do this exercise. Plus the knowledge will build on what you have learned previouslymakingÒ each exercise easier and more productive.
